Sherri Press, LCSW
Sherri Press is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified School Counselor. She earned a BA in Social Work from Syracuse University, an MA in Counselor Education and an MSW with a clinical focus, both from NYU. Sherri has worked as a therapist in mental health settings with adults and adolescents and in NJ public schools, counseling middle and high school students with special needs. She also has experience working with parents of children/adolescents with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and PDD.
Sherri was trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, an approach that focuses on self-exploration, self-awareness, insight and a strong therapeutic alliance. She believes that it is necessary to examine our past, if we are to understand and change our present. Sherri also integrates Cognitive Behavioral techniques and Supportive Therapy into her practice.
