Melissa Rosen, LCSW

Melissa earned her Masters in Social Work from Fordham University where she received the Rev. John McCarthy Award for outstanding performance in course and fieldwork. She has experience as a clinical social worker in various settings including: in-home care, assisted living facilities, and private psychotherapy practice. Melissa has worked with diverse populations and ages ranging from young children to the elderly. She utilizes an eclectic mix of psychotherapeutic techniques including: Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and EMDR. Melissa believes in partnering with individuals to assist them in realizing their potential and unlocking blocks to growth and change. She integrates the concept of self-compassion into her work - helping others to learn to treat themselves with loving-kindness. She has certification in “Jungian Psychology and Group Work.” She practices Insight Meditation.
